What is an Epic Little Hero personalized children's book?
It's a fully illustrated children's storybook where your child is the hero — not just their name, but their actual face, drawn into every illustration. You upload a photo, choose a story theme, and our AI writes and illustrates a book starring your child. You receive a print-ready PDF in minutes.
How much does a personalized book cost?
A personalized book costs $29. It's a one-time purchase — no subscription and no shipping fees, because delivery is a digital PDF.
How is this different from other personalized books?
Most "personalized" books only swap in your child's name. Epic Little Hero uses your child's real photo so their actual face appears in every illustration. When your child opens the book, they see themselves — not a generic character with their name.
What kind of photo do I need to upload?
Any clear photo of your child's face works — a phone photo is fine. Good lighting and a front-facing view give the best results. You can upload 1–3 photos per character.
How long does it take to create a book?
About 3 minutes of your time to upload a photo and pick a theme, then a few minutes for the AI to write and illustrate the story. The print-ready PDF is available for download as soon as it's done.
How do I print the book?
The PDF is print-ready — you can print it at home, at any local print shop, or through an online print service. Glossy or matte paper both look great. Because you keep the file, you can reprint it any time, or print extra copies for grandparents.
What ages is a personalized book best for?
The sweet spot is ages 1–8, the peak picture-book years. Younger children love recognizing their own face; early readers get a powerful motivation boost from being the hero of their own story.
What story themes can I choose from?
Space adventures, fantasy and magic, jungle tales, ocean worlds, dinosaurs, and more — over 20 illustrated story worlds. You can also add your child's favorite things or special requests, and the story weaves them in.
What happens to the photos I upload?
Uploaded photos are used only to generate your book's illustrations and are deleted from our servers within 14 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
Can more than one child be in the same book?
Not yet. Each book currently stars one child, so we can get their likeness just right. Books with siblings or other family members are coming soon.
Do I get to see the book before I pay?
You review the personalized story before finalizing your book, and you can browse full sample books in our Community Library to see real illustration quality before you start.
Is a personalized book a good gift?
It's one of the few gifts that's used, kept, and remembered: kids re-read books they star in far more often than regular picture books, and the book becomes a keepsake afterward. It's a favorite for birthdays, holidays, and grandparent gifts — and it needs no shipping, so it works even last-minute.
